What’s this? Manicures, pedicures, massages, and no women?! Chicago’s own Gold Coast welcomes Halo Spa- a spa strictly devoted to TLC for men. In a place I would describe only the most savvy of metro-sexuals to visit, this urban loft is decked out in black leather chairs, complete with a plasma TV and a swank little bar. They offer everything from back massages to bikini waxes (?) and if a guy really wants the Ritz, they actually offer a full package called “The Man” (a little ironic, in my opinion). “The Man” includes a scalp massage, haircut and style, hand massage (with paraffin wax treatment), a hot towel facial, a free touch-up within two weeks of the treatment, and of course, a complimentary beverage. Some other manly spa packages include: The Relaxer, The Buzz, The Beard, and The Pimp. Prices range from the ten-dollar beard trim to the three hundred dollar “Rockstar.” In addition to these services, Halo also hosts private parties, gift cards and memberships- The Mile High ($10,000) and The Nearly Mile High ($700) which both include unlimited services. Halo Spa [for men] also has two other locations in Lakeview and Bucktown for your hubby’s convenience. Even though us ladies aren’t able to indulge in such testosteronial goodness, now you know the perfect place to spoil your beaux.
