The Treats Truck - Brooklyn Bakery on Wheels
Move over Mister Softee, and girls, get your sweet tooth ready. The Treats Truck is loose on the streets of the city and is filled to the top with loads of delicious cookies and brownies just waiting to be devoured.
Genius (why didn’t I think of this?!) owner Kim Ima, keeps the truck, named Sugar, stocked with both classic and innovative goodies like mexican chocolate brownies, yummy sandwich cookies and clever new takes on the original rice crispy square. The truck also packs in daily specials that will have your mouth watering in seconds. Here’s a quick preview of what you just might stumble upon: chocolate mint sandwich cookies, coconut macaroons and ice cream cone cupcakes, just to name a yummy few.
Let the chase around the city begin, and grab these sugary goodies while you can. Each day the truck moves to a different location in Manhattan or Brooklyn to give even more bakery lovers the chance to taste their fantastic creations.
If just following your nose to that deliciously fresh-baked smell doesn’t work, give the Treats Truck hotline a jingle or log online to find out the exact location where the truck is or will be next. Even better, with seven days in a week you can bet that you will frequently be able to get your hands on those gooey chocolate chip cookies when the Treats Truck is in your neighborhood.
So, girls get out and find that truck! Hey, at least you can say you burned off a few calories while chasing it down…

Union Hall
If you’re looking for a classy place to get your drink on, head to Union Hall in Park Slope. The vibe is that of an 18th century English frat lair: distinguished yet fun. There are old books lining the walls; comfortable chairs in regal patterns; two bocce ball courts; a well lit fire; and hung paintings of scholars to complete the mood. The drinks are relatively cheap and the food is atypical of average bar munchies. On their menu you’ll find rare items like, “Saga blue cheese coated in Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, deep fried and served with chestnut and pear brandy puree” ($7) and “Ahi Tuna sliced paper thin on a plate and topped with wasabi aioli and mango puree” ($9). Just want a snack? Get back to the basics and order some milk and cookies ($5).
Union Hall will provide you with such an unusual experience that you might just become a ‘usual.’ Before you know it, you’ll wind up on a bocce ball league, be hip to all the latest new music (they have venue downstairs, complete with its own bar) and hold secret meetings that cross reference Nietzsche and hula-hoops. Sound too chic for your less than bloated budget? You can pay off the experience long after you’ve had your fun - MasterCard, Visa, and American Express accepted.

Best Beer in the Big Apple!
Nothing goes better with a humid New York City day, than a cold beer at night! Or on a Saturday afternoon. Leave the average everyday Irish pubs for average every days and visit some of New York City’s local breweries for a truly unique date or outing with friends.
- Brooklyn Brewery – Located in trendy Williamsburg, the Brooklyn Brewery offers Saturday tours from 1-5PM. They’re free and led by energetic hipsters, well-schooled in this top brewery’s booze. At the end of the tour enjoy a free brew on the house!
While you can sip the popular Brooklyn Lager at bars all around the city, it may be best enjoyed at Brooklyn Brewery’s Friday night Happy Hour. Every Friday, from 6-11PM, sample $3 beers from the 8 on tap. Order in a pizza and enjoy art, music and sometimes even live performances. - Heartland Brewery - Back in 1995, Union Square became home to New York’s first American-style brewpub, the Heartland Brewery. Now you can visit one of their six locations throughout Manhattan to try any of over a dozen award- winning beers. Alongside a delicious menu of American fare take the “Seasonal Voyage,” and for $13.95, try 5 oz. samplings of the six classics and two seasonal beers.
- Sixpoint Brewery – named after the legendary six-pointed star of brewers of the Middle Ages, this Red Hook brewery prides itself on its Brooklyn blood. They hold tours and tastings every Saturday at 1PM and will even open their doors throughout the week if you give them some notice.
Treat yourself to a local brew this summer and visit the websites of these great New York breweries for more information on their special events and bars in your neighborhood that support these NYC staples!

Borough, Food & Drink
No matter where you live in the city or the boroughs there's something distinctive about your neighborhood. Most importantly, no matter where you reside, work or love to hang out - we can all agree that the options of foods in the city are limitless. Now at Borough Food and Drink, all the areas that make up this great city can play nice with foods and recipes inspired by their locale. Finally the best of Astoria, LES, Chinatown and even items that are known in upstate New York can be found at this new restaurant which formerly housed Rocco's. As always, it's nice to sit in the bar area where you can see and be seen; however, don't forget to make a point of going to the back room area where a pool table is the primary element in the room.

Sea
This is a fantastic Thai place - the food is great and so is the ambiance! It's very busy on weekends, so you may have a bit of a wait if you don't make reservations, but then you can just hang out at the bar and get a glimpse of the gorgeous fountain in the middle of the restaurant.
