I love my shopyop Prada white bag!

Hi girls! Today is the day… I just received a box from Hongkong! And guess what it is! Well it should be the prada replica bag that I ordered last week… I am so excited! I wanted to share this experience with you, so I have not opened it yet… Do you have any idea how difficult it is for me not to tear off the packaging at once to discover my bag?

Glitz and Glamour at Target

I think we all know how great Target is. It's the place we can grocery shop, buy cute handbags, and find a gift for practically everyone we know. Target has surprised me in the last week and I'll tell you why.

Steve and Barry's

Steve and Barry’s, the store you’ve never heard of, is one of the fastest growing retailers on the market right now.

Growing at 70% a year, there’s a lot that goes into that success including savvy production strategies and zero advertising. What keeps bring me back time and again are the rock-bottom prices: jeans are $14.99, shirts $9.99, sweaters $19.99. In fact, nothing in the store costs more than $19.99, which radically undercuts both Wal-Mart and Target.

Those of us living in Manhattan know there are plenty of stores in that price range, like Rainbow, that offer clothes that disintegrate on the first wash, if they make it that long.
Steve and Barry’s clothes are high quality: you won’t find cashmere but sweaters are soft to the touch and survive laundry after laundry.

Back to the ‘no advertising’, I first searched for Steve and Barry’s because I saw an article about Sarah Jessica Parker’s line, Bitten. Most of the clothes at Steve and Barry’s are quite basic, in a nice way: camisoles with a nice lace trim, soft long-sleeved shirts, nicely tailored white button-up shirts. I found some nice things in Bitten and also, surprisingly, in Amanda Bynes’ line, Dear.

I wear my stretch, higher-waisted Bitten jeans almost every day. The stretch is fantastic (though I went back and bought a size down because they stretched out a little too much after the first wash. At $14.99 it was still far below the cost of jeans elsewhere), and higher waist means it comes to my natural waist, right below my belly button. No more muffin top! My one complaint is that the long zipper always unzips a half-inch when I sit, so I wear longer shirts and sweaters with these jeans.

In Dear, I have another closet staple: a soft, grey shrug sweater for $19.99. I could have bought a size down and my sense is that Steve and Barry’s sizes run a little large. I also got a cute long sweater that I can wear with jeans or leggings, also $19.99.

Spa Week is Back and Better Then Ever...

Oct 15 2007 - 12:00am
Oct 21 2007 - 11:59pm
Etc/GMT-8

Fall spa week is back, and for one week in October stressed out fashionistas can get pampered for less then a new pair of Rock and Republics. From October 15-21, spas around Manhattan are offering services that will have you relaxed from head to toe for a flat rate of $50. For one week, there has never been a better excuse to treat your body.

Whether you live uptown or downtown, east side or west, there is sure to be a participating spa just minutes from your door. At Red Door, by Elizabeth Arden, $50 gets you one of three 50-minute services ranging from a body melt to a pedicure to a massage. Still not convinced? At Fresh, a hard earned $50 gets you one of two 60-minute facials and even better, complimentary spa week products after each service. Trust me, this is the time to grab your best friend, your unpolished fingers, and call some of New York’s most exclusive spas for a fabulously relaxing time.

Spa week only comes once a season, and this fall, the week is sure to book up fast. Take advantage and make an appointment now, or make it 7 appointments, one for every night of the week… I promise, your body and mind will thank you for it.

You Can Teach a Young Store New Tricks

It’s no secret that Forever 21 has surpassed “little-sister-only” status and is now a vogue stop on every discount diva’s shopping list. The inexpensive emporium has figured out how to give the people what they want, at prices that we can actually afford - which is what fashion should be about.

The most recent addition to the Forever 21 New York City fam is the SoHo location. I decided to check it out and had to do about a dozen double takes to believe that I was, in fact, actually in a Forever 21. As much as I love the store, there’s usually so much time spent sifting through piles and pushing past teenyboppers that I get fed up easily. Come visit this store before it falls to the same fate! Not only are both levels as chic as a SoHo boutique needs to be, but everything is well-organized and new fall finds are everywhere you look. Some of my favorite pieces in the store were:

Satin Dress $22.80 in Magenta
Wool Jacket $32.80 in Black or Red
Basketweave Hobo Bag $25.80 in Purple or Black

They may all be the same chain, but the new SoHo Forever 21 is worth visiting!
