Deciding what to wear for a night out on the town can be a daunting task. There will always come a time when you open your closet and everything will be old, tired and ugly…much like you may feel at that very moment. All your clothes are black, grey, or beige. You have a couple of things that are in your favorite color, but you want something multi-colored. You want something to make you stand out at the bar. Not to mention that a week at work has made you want to burn every pair of black pants and button-up that you own. You call up your friend or your roommate to bring down their entire wardrobe so you have something to choose from, but all of it is either too big or too small, right Goldilocks?
There are some simple rules to follow when you’re in a pinch and looking for an outfit to hit the town. Mini skirts are on their way out this season and in replacement of the mini are short shorts. These short shorts are not to be mistaken for jean shorts. Short shorts are taking it to the next level. They are not meant to be skanky, they are meant to be worn sweetly. The shoes can be substituted for something more affordable, but as a shoe lover these are the perfect summer metallic dress sandals to dress up a rather casual outfit.

If you are uncomfortable with your legs like many women in Chicago you can substitute the short shorts for Bermuda shorts. Stay fresh and cool by wearing light weight natural fabrics such as cotton. The Greek Goddess look is in with gorgeous flowing fabrics as well which will help keep you cool on a hot night out while taking the Southport bars by storm.

PURRfect Summer Outfit

Lauren Conrad attended the "Welcome Back Submarine" event at Disneyland, Anaheim, CA. Lauren looks almost innocent in this super suspender short denim outfit. She paired the shorts with a gray, sleeveless tank and some Tory Burch funky flats, don’t forget to add a great headband and a side, loose ponytail. The trick is to make it look unplanned. This outfit is perfect for a sunny day and flea market shopping with a BFF, or an early lunch date with a BF or a blind date with that guy on Myspace. Whatever you do this summer, this outfit must be “shown”. So grab your shades and your suspenders and have some FUN!
