Amélie of Nob Hill
Everybody loves Amélie. When I hear the name what immediately comes to mind is the favorite film featuring the sweet and fantastically quirky Amélie of Monmartre. Audrey Tautou plays the gamine French girl with a heart for helping people stuck in emotional gridlock. San Francisco now has its own Amélie, a saucy new wine bar on Polk Street in Nob Hill, with its own version of vino therapy.
Café Bastille
Café Bastille is in one of the greatest dining areas in San Francisco - Belden Place. it’s a little alley-way near the financial district filled with great (mostly) European restaurants. French, Italian, even American, that serve everything from steak and seafood to delicious desserts and drinks. It’s a little more than you might pay for an “average” night out, which is why I like going here for special occasions, or just a special night. I’d say pricing would end up being around $20 - $25 a person with a drink, and how can you refuse drinks and dessert in a place like this
Café Bastille is my fave spot in this little alley. I went there for the first time on my birthday so I treated myself to the whole nine yards. The cheese plate and fruit appetizer could be a meal in and of itself. My favorite main courses are the seafood ones - I had the salmon. Mmmmm … Hubby had the steak, which he loved, too. Throw in Crème Brulee for dessert and the best vanilla mojito ever, and you’ve got a recipe for the best meal ever. Which is why I reserve it for special occasions!
Triomphe
Chef Steven Zobel and Restauranteur Paul Celnik have combined intimate surroundings and an unforgettable menu to create Triomphe, a hidden gem amongst the many dining choices in Midtown Manhattan and the Theatre District. Lauded by critics and patrons, Triomphe is proud of its "24" rating in Zagats, an honorable mention in the Michelin Guide and a Star in the Fodor's Guide.

Tartine
It's a cute little restaurant down in Greenwich Village. The food's a bit pricey, but it's really good (especially the dessert). It's also B.Y.O.B.
