Wardrobe Staples For Twenty Bucks

I finally checked out Sarah Jessica Parker's fashion line, Bitten. I remember SJP launching the line on "Oprah" and made a mental note to check it out the next time I was at a "Steve and Barry" store, but I totally blanked on it until recently.

Yesterday, I was in my favorite local outlet mall and could see the "Bitten" signs peering out the Steve and Barry window. So, I went inside and scoped it out.

What is true: ALL of the pieces in the collection are indeed priced at 20 bucks and under. A great way to build your fall wardrobe without feeling too much of a pinch in the wallet. The styles of the items were a bit more simplistic than I anticipated from a line with SJP's name on it, I guess I may have fallen into the trap of expecting Sarah to be like the character "Carrie" she played on "Sex And The City."

After buying some pieces and bringing them home-- I do appreciate the easy mix and match approach. I mean, where else can you find an adorable cropped jean jacket for fifteen dollars?

A graphic arts community, online store, and ongoing contest, Threadless’ t-shirt design competition is the best place to find original tops for men, women, and children. Started in 2000 by Chicago designers Jake Nickell and Jacob DeHart, Threadless features new t-shirt designs for purchase every Monday. Submitted by both professionals and amateurs, four to seven designs are selected by Threadless members (membership is free) every week from over six hundred submissions. Winners receive $2,000 and have their t-shirt printed and sold.

On Monday July 9th seven new shirts were announced. One shirt is white with the cheeky slogan “I Listen To Bands That Don’t Even Exist Yet,” another shirt features a graphic of a genie sitting in his magic bottle watching television. The shirts range from humorous to abstract and are all printed in limited numbers. Popular shirts tend to sell out quickly; it’s important to join the email list so new shirt announcements are sent to you as soon as they come out.
